Brazil chicken production estimated to increase in 2024

By: Brazil's USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) post estimates chicken meat production in 2024 to slightly increase from 2023, reaching 15 million metric tons (MMT), according to a recent US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) report.
Brazil is the second-largest chicken meat producer in the world, behind the United States, per official USDA data.
For 2025, the USDA FAS post forecasts chicken meat production will reach 15.1 MMT, a 1% increase from 2024. This forecast represents a historical high for Brazil.
Forecasts are based on strong external demand, the socio-economic performance expected for the country, and improved costs of production. The USDA FAS post forecasts that production in 2025 will reach record levels, as presented in the following graph.
