The health of humans, animals, and the planet is intimately linked and interconnected. Recognizing this, Ceva early on became a One Health company, adopting a clear vision encapsulated in its signature: “Together, beyond animal health.” To accomplish this vision, Ceva operates under a core three-pillar belief system: #OneCeva, which builds the company together with employees, partners, and customers; #OnePlanet, which commits to preserving the diversity of the planet; and #OneHealth. With the #OneHealth pillar, Ceva strives to be more than just a company committed to animal health, but a #OneHealth company that plays an essential role in preserving the health of all, from animals to humans to our planet.
According to the World Health Organization, 70% of new emerging diseases in humans are of animal origin. It is, therefore the duty of all veterinary companies to prevent these zoonotic Diseases.
To counter this growing threat, Ceva has developed more than 50 vaccines against 19 major zoonoses to date. Furthermore, more than 54% of its R&D investments are dedicated to vaccines. This preventive approach is fundamental as it also helps reduce the prescription of antibiotics, thus effectively combating antimicrobial resistance.
One Health also covers topics vital to the development of the planet and all humans, such as food safety and security. Nearly a billion people worldwide suffer from malnutrition, and lack of access to animal protein can have tragic consequences on the development of children worldwide. Ceva works every day to contribute to a future where everyone in the world has access to healthy, nutritious food in sufficient quantities. The company provides solutions that enable farmers to responsibly produce sufficient protein which contributes to food security.
The connection between humans and animals is another key aspect of Ceva’s contribution to #OneHealth. Animals can profoundly impact human health and well-being, so Ceva is committed to promoting this valuable bond through products and services designed to ensure a healthy life for animals. Ceva has long been a passionate advocate of the bond that links animals, especially dogs, with people.
