Although avian influenza outbreaks have negatively impacted Hungary’s poultry industry, chicken production remains stable, according to a recent US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) report.

Stable production is attributed to predictable domestic demand and increasing investment. At the same time, an estimated 15% of Hungarian poultry producers gave up their business in 2023, leading to an inevitable consolidation of production.
