President of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) Ricardo Santin was reelected to the position of vice president of the Latin American Poultry Association (ALA), according to a press release from the association. The election took place during the ALA general assembly in Punta del Este (Uruguay).

Santin, who is also president of the World Poultry Council (IPC) and of the Board of Directors of the Instituto Ovos Brasil (IOB), had his mission renewed in the sectoral work maintained by ALA in favor of the development of the Latin American poultry industry.

Maria Del Rosario Penedo de Falla, president of the National Poultry Association of Guatemala (ANAVI), was chosen to preside over ALA – the country that will host the next edition of OVUM in 2026.

“We have focused ALA’s efforts on harmonizing common issues for Latin American countries, which include raising awareness about antimicrobials and protecting against diseases such as Avian Influenza. We have a renewed challenge and will continue to work together to advance our role in the future of global food production,” says Santin.
