Three new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been confirmed in Ontario, according to a notice issued by the Feather Board Command Centre (FBCC) on April 17.

The outbreaks, caused by H5N1, were detected in the Township of St. Clair, Township of Enniskillen, and Middlesex Centre.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has established primary control zones (PCZs) around each infected premises to limit disease spread.

Movement in and out of the zones is being regulated through permits. Progress is reportedly underway on all affected farms, with restrictions expected to ease as each zone meets revocation milestones.

The most recent case was declared March 25. Updates and control zone maps are available via the CFIA.
