Brazil chicken prices rise in early April - Cepea
Consumer demand lifts frozen and chilled meat quotes in São PauloChicken meat prices edged higher in the first half of April as early-month demand drove gains in key markets, according to Cepea.
In Greater São Paulo’s wholesale market, the price of frozen whole chicken climbed 6.8% between March 31 and April 15, reaching BRL 8.86 per kilogram. Chilled whole chicken saw a similar increase of 6.9%, closing at BRL 8.89/kg during the same period.
The price boost aligns with typical early-month buying patterns, which tend to lift demand and tighten supply in Brazil’s largest urban centres.
