Israel Newcastle Disease Outbreak Resolved
ISRAEL - An outbreak of Sub-clinical Newcastle disease has been resolved in Israel.The OIE was alerted to the resolution by Dr Nadav Galon, Director, Veterinary Services and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Bet Dagan.
The outbreak was initially reported on the 25 November, among 4.5 weeks old broilers. The birds showed neurological and respiratory clinical signs.
In total, there were 8,000 cases, with 2,280 deaths. The cause of the outbreak remains unknown.
The last outbreak of Newcastle disease in the country was in August 2012.
